Dear friends of the Rosenstock,
our hotel has been open again since May 21, 2021 - including the complete wellness area!
Please note the following important information on the current Corona situation (as of June 7, 2021)
• Overnight guests may only arrive with a negative, current Corona test (PCR test carried out no more than 48 hours ago, POC antigen test carried out no more than 24 hours ago) and must take a current test every 48 hours in one of the test centers (this rule applies if - as is the case with us in the Oberallgäu district - the current incidence is higher than 50).
• Vaccinated and convalescent persons are exempt from testing obligations according to the generally applicable principles.
Due to the special situation, we have adjusted our cancellation conditions for all bookings:
A cancellation period of 3 days applies to reservations already made by July 31, 2021 (except for bookings on booking.com or HRS). This means that you can leave the reservation you have already made and, if necessary, cancel it at short notice.
The same - completely risk-free - cancellation period naturally also applies to all new bookings (until July 31, 2021).
Until we meet again, we wish you all the best!
Your Karg family and all employees
Places of interest in the Allgäu
The Allgäu is a very special part of the world, where you're more of less active on your own accord; but always accompanied by a suitable tranquillity and, above all, the fresh mountain air that this Alpine landscape entails. You will find idyllic spots, impressive natural spectacles and exciting activities just waiting to be discovered - everywhere. Whether it's a relaxing or more active holiday, everyone will find just what they are looking for on a holiday, with lasting benefits too. Once people have been to the Allgäu, they are guaranteed to become repeat offenders!
Breitachklamm is the deepest gorge in central Europe and and a popular visitor attraction. A rushing and roaring gorge in summer, it solidifies to become a bizarre, sparkling fairytale landscape of ice and snow in winter. Glistening icicles, mighty curtains of ice, frozen waterfalls and mysterious caves attract many nature lovers. Experience the magic of Breitachklamm in winter on a torchlit hike under the cover of darkness - the 2.5 km trail will be an unforgettable experience whether in winter or summer!
Germany's longest year-round toboggan run operates in almost all weather and, under the motto "all aboard, seatbelt on and off we go!", is a 'must' for your travel itinerary. With a length of over 2.8 kilometres, the route runs from the summit station of the chair lift through Alpine meadows and unspoilt nature, down into the valley. With 68 bends, 23 waves, 7 jumps and 4 bridges, plus a 430-degree loop. The thrill of the speedy valley descent lasts about five to ten minutes; and at certain times of year it is possible up to 22:00 hrs under floodlights. And the best thing about it: everyone can set their own speed!
Allgäu Mountain Farming Museum
The Allgäu Mountain Farming Museum offers nature lovers an impressive panoramic view of the Allgäu Alps as soon as they arrive. Conceived as a living museum, the farming museum shows everyday life in a mountain village - from the development of farming life in Allgäu at the time when flax was cultivated, the start of dairy farming expedited by Carl Hirnbein, and provides impressions of today's modern agriculture. One highlight is the "walk-in cow's stomach" - Visitors step right inside the cow through a large mouth. Curious? Then don't miss it!
Cambodunum Archaeological Park
Cambodunum Archaeological Park (APC) in Kempten takes you on an exciting journey into the past. Delve into the history of Germany's oldest recorded Roman town and let the ruins and excavations transport you back to this time. Free guided tours are offered locally at the Archaeological Park.
The world's longest foot suspension bridge in Tibetan style has not only reached the Guinness Book of Records, it also offers you a spectacular panoramic view at a loft height of 114 metres! Feel the freedom combined with views of the impressive Allgäu and Letchtal Alps.
Castles in Allgäu
Discover a variety of noble palaces, impressive ruined castles and imposing city walls in the districts of Ostallgäu, Oberallgäu and Unterallgäu! Go on an exploration tour and combine this adventure with an unforgettable hike.
Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein all have something in common - Lake Constance! Bathing beaches and mountains, zander fillet and pork knuckle, Romanesque and Bauhaus, Prosecco and weissbier, city living and countryside, cow bells and festivals: this unique mixture of culture and nature makes this region so special and is definitey a 'must' for every holidaymaker. Visitors to Lake Constance should not miss seeing well-known attractions such as the Mainau Island of Flowers and the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen.
The Königswinkel holiday region refers to the area around the town of Füssen and the districts of Schwangau and Pfronten in Ostallgäu. Königswinkel is a romantic reference to the fairytale landscape and royal palaces of King Ludwig II. It is not called 'land of mountains, lakes and royal palaces' for nothing. In addition to the royal palaces, numerous lakes, such as Forggensee, Hopfensee, Bannwaldsee, the mystic Alatsee and Schwansee and Alpsee directly below Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Palace are also well worth a visit.
The Lechtal valley has many faces, each one more beautiful than the other. You will find almost unspoilt nature here, especially in the communities found in the valleys forming tributaries to the main valley. Often, for long stretches, you won't find lifts, ski slopes and hotels here. Cars and buses travel only sporadically, in the winter months even less so than in summer. This is why the small villages are places we now long for. Perhaps also because theses remote villages in Lechtal have been able to retain their original Tyrolean mountain village character, as well as maintaining local traditions and customs.
As Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze is and remains a popular visitor attraction. This is the only place to enjoy the fantastic panoramic views at an altitude of 2,962 metres. Alongside numerous opportunities for outdoor activities, there is also the unique opportunity to stop for refreshments in Germany's highest beer garden. This is the real highlight of a climb to the summit!
